Mo Dedicates Maiden EPL Goal to Late Mother

History was made on 12th March 2016 when Modou Barrow became the first Gambian professional player to score in the English Premier League in his Swansea’s 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth.

In a chat with Observer Light, the sensational forward said his every goal is dedicated to his late mum. “Yea! Am glad to be the first Gambian to play in Swansea and to score in the premier league. Am really happy to get that goal and I thank God for that. To be honest every goal I score is for my mum and I am praying for her. My every goal and work is for her.”

Modou Barrow’s mother Wonto Ceesay died in 2003 when the sensational forward was just 11years old. Barrow holds high respect for his late mother. He wishes his mother were still alive to enjoy her son’s success.
