In a bid to promote the sport of karate among Gambians, The Gambia Karate Federation is preparing to organise a maiden Beach Karate show on Sunday at the Palma Rima Beach.
In an interview with Observer Sports ahead of the event, Ahmed D Jack, the President of The Gambia Karate Federation said the Federation is with the view that organising such an event would further sell the sport.
“Therefore, as far as public awareness is concerned, we deemed it necessary to go to beach where many gather.”
According to him, all is set for the event and all the clubs will be represented, while encouraging the general public to attend the event.
Reflecting back since his election as the President of the Federation in 2015, Jack claimed there is transparency and collectiveness in their daily running.
However, he lamented that the Federation is being confronted with financial constraints, revealing that his executive inherited only D404 from the previous executive.
