Omar Sise, head coach of The Gambia U-20 has said technical preparations for the African Youth Championship qualifier at home to Morocco on Saturday are going on normal, noting that the goal for his side is to qualify.

Sise was speaking during a pre-match press conference on Wednesday at the Independence Stadium shortly after a 2-1 win over Banjul United in a test game.

The Moroccan side arrived in the country on Tuesday and is hosted at the Ocean Bay Hotel in Cape Point getting ready for the game.

“We are putting up strategies in all aspects to win handsomely in The Gambia and go to Morocco and win. We are hopeful of achieving the results,” he told the local press including Observer Sports.

With many having the belief that the Morocco game would be much tougher than Sierra Leone, Sise said the team would strengthen itself a little bit. “It does not make any frustration on us because as I always said it is 90 minutes.”

Sise would not dilate on his game plan, but is confident that his team can play against any side and promised that the spirit would continue.

He told the press that the mood at the camp was quite fantastic at the time of the press conference. He added that there was no injury threat also.

Pa Omar Babou, 2nd vice captain and spokesperson for the team said the players are ready for the task and would deliver the results at the end of the game. “I am looking forward to scoring a hat-trick against Morocco and God willing I am going to do it.”
