Gambia Deaf Scorpions Set for WA Football Tournament

The government of Ghana through Ghana National Sports Authority and Ghana Paralympic Committee with the Economic Support of ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre (EYSDC) has officially invited the Gambia National Deaf football team and its officials (Deaf Scorpions FC) to the 6th Edition of West African Deaf Football Tournament to be held from 24th June to 8th July at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra, Ghana.

The tournament is being organized to bring unity and a keen healthy football competition among member states of ECOWAS. This is the 6th ECOWAS Programme for Deaf Sports Associations in region with the aim to build up unity, strength and betterment of football for Deaf sports Associations.

In a press release sent to Observer Sports Desk from the Gambia Deaf Sports Association and signed by president Lamin Ceesay, the Gambia Deaf Scorpions FC is seeking financial support from all the stakeholder institutions, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gambia Football Federation, and Gambia National Olympic Committee to secure air tickets.

“The association is able to cover its delegates allowance, registration fee, nonrefundable affiliation fee, jerseys and participation fee,” said Ceesay.
