2016 GFF first division domestic league champions GPA ended their remarkable season with a defeat against second place side Brikama United on Sunday at the KG5 mini stadium in Banjul.
Saikouba Ceesay scored in either half of the game for the Sateba side and Muhammed Kabba headed in a consolation goal for Ports late in the game.
GPA were confirmed as champions last week and Brikama Utd needed to win to maintained their 2nd place standing in the league and they did just that.
In a post match interview with Observer Sports, Brikama United assistant coach, Modou Lamin Nyassi congratulated GPA for winning the league and applauded his boys for winning the game to maintain their standing as 2nd place winners.
Brikama United will now shift attention to the much talked-about FF Cup final against fellow town brothers Bombada next weekend at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.
Hagie Tunkara, GPA assistant coach was full of praises for the Management of GPA and executive members of the Football Club for the support to the team during the season.
