The President of the Gambia Football Federation Lamin Kabba Bajo has sent a letter of condolence to the President of Nigeria Football Federation Mr. Amaju Pinnick on the sudden demise of Mr. Stephen Keshi.
The letter reads: “It is with deep sorrow and sadness that I write on behalf of the Gambia Football Federation, the entire football family of the Gambia and on my own behalf to convey our heartfelt condolences and sympathy on the sudden demise of Mr. Stephen Keshi, former player and coach of your national team, the Super Eagles.
The untimely death of Mr. Keshi which was received with shock is not only a loss to the NFF and Nigeria, but to the whole of Africa as he has proven to all that as Africans we can do it too, by not only leading the Super Eagles to the Finals of the AFCON but winning it as a player and Coach respectively. His football skills as a player and leadership qualities as a coach earned him the love, admiration and respect of all”.
Kabba prayed that the Almighty Allah “grant Keshi’s gentle soul eternal peace”.
The GFF President sought from his counterpart to “transmit our deepest condolences and sympathy to his family, relatives and loved ones on our behalf”.
Kabba finally assured Mr Pinnick “of our solidarity in this difficult moment and, our continuous prayers for the departed giant and icon of Nigerian and African football who will always remain in our hearts”
