Oxford FC on Monday became the latest team to register their first win in this year’s ongoing Serrekunda East Nawettan qualifying campaign after eliminating Dara Gi FC through Sainey Bojang’s 72nd minute lone goal.
46 teams registered for the qualifiers and only four teams will make it to the nawettan proper.
In the other qualifying round games played at the SerRekunda East Mini-Stadium, Weeh Weeh Bi defeated Young Stars FC 2-0; Jarra United eliminated Young Bantaba after a 2-0 win.
On Saturday Mansa Marou defeated Hamburg by a lone goal, whilst Nema Jola Kunda defeated Raptin 5-4 on a post-match penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Master FC defeated United Red 6-5 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
Brikama
Meanwhile, in Brikama, Lamin Jarra’s brace inspired Diamond to a win over Jamisa Bantaba in a game played on Monday at the Box Bar Mini-Stadium.
In the second round fixtures, Jagana FC would battle it out with Star Light FC of Farato on Thursday, while Just Musters, coached by Real de Banjul defender Adama Sabally, entertains Cash Money FC.
