The head coach of Lamin zonal team, Sang Mendy is confident of better performances in the ongoing Super Nawettan competition despite a slow start.
The 2004 champions have a solitary point from two games following defeat abd a draw to BEM and Brikama respectively.
In a post-match interview with Observer Sports after a 1-1 draw with Brikama on Tuesday evening at the SK East Park, Mendy expressed disappointment with the final result, but was quite satisfied with the performance of his players.
Modou Lamin Jatta scored for Lamin in the 62nd minute sending fans into wild jubilation. However, it took just two minutes later for the Sateba boys to equalise courtesy of Dembo Darboe.
“Right now nobody is putting us among the serious contenders, but we are going to surprise everybody and we will do it,” the Lamin gaffer assured.
The head coach of Brikama zonal team, Pierre Gomez whose team earned 4 points from two Group A games was happy with the result.
