Cricket GPL Knockout Tournament Update

The ongoing Gambia Cricket Primer League (GPL) Knockout tournament in high gear as  the Gambia Ports Authority defeated Saints in the game played at the July 22nd Cricket ground in Banjul on Sunday.

Saints won the toss and set GPA to bat. GPA batted in the first innings and scored 200 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs Joseph Badjan batted and scored 58 runs the highest for them Melvin Williams bowled 3 overs and took 4 wickets for 26 runs. Saints batted in the second innings and Scored 41 runs for 10 wickets in 7 overs. Ousman Bah batted and scored 14 runs the highest for them Elvis John bowled and took 2 wickets for 60 runs in 7 overs bowled. Gambia Ports Authority won by 159 runs.

In the Upper Basic School category, on Tuesday, Jahumpa Upper Basic School won the toss and field St. Joseph’s Upper Basic School batted in the first innings and scored 50 runs for 10 wickets in 15 overs Famara Colley batted and scored 14 runs the highest for them. Bai Cherno Nyang bowled and took 2 wickets for 16 runs in 3 overs bowled. Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School batted in the second innings and scored 51 runs in 8 overs for 4 wickets. Barboucarr Jallow batted and scored 22 runs the highest for them.

In the Primary School category, St. Mary’s School won the toss and batted in the first innings and scored 95 runs for 2 wickets in 15 overs Ansu Joof batted and scored 33 runs the highest for them.

On Tuesday, Albion Lower Basic School won the toss and batted in the first innings and scored 87 runs for 8 wickets in 15 overs Malick Mbye batted and scored 18 runs the highest for them. On Wednesday, Wesley Lower Basic School won the toss and batted in the first innings and scored 40 runs for 10 wickets in 9.1 overs Salieu Jallow batted and scored 12 runs the highest for them. Edrissa Camara bowled and took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 2 overs bowled.

On Thursday, Muhammedan Lower Basic School won the toss and field Rev. J. C. Faye Memorial School batted in the first innings and scored 72 runs for 10 wickets in 13.4 overs Musa Sanneh batted and scored 19 runs the highest for them. Musa Sanneh bowled and took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 3 overs bowled.

In the Primary School Girls category, on Wednesday St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School won the toss and field, Muhammedan Lower Basic School batted in the first innings and scored 100 runs for 2 wickets in 15 overs Yassin Touray batted and scored 33 runs the highest for them. Mariama Jallow bowled and took 7 wickets for 2 runs in 2 overs bowled.

While Wesley Lower Basic School won the toss and batted in the first innings and scored 35 runs for 10 wickets in 9.2 overs Mariama Fatty batted and scored 9 runs  each the highest for them.
