Brikama United has withdrawn from the CAF Confederations Cup due to financial constrains, Observer Sports has gathered.
The Federation Cup winners were set to represent the country in the second tier continental club competition in Africa where they were expected to enter the competition in the preliminary stages.
A member of the committee who spoke to Observer Sports under the condition of anonymity said: “It is true that we [Brikama United] withdrew because we don’t have enough money to take the team. We even went to the Gambia Football Federation to inform them that we withdrew.”
