The 2016 Handball League, organised by the Gambia Handball League, is in progress across the different venues designated for the game.
In the female league games, Warriors won Nema Kunku 51-6, Police against Warriors ended 6-28, GAF thrashed Nema Kunku 27-4, Lions’ Heart also prevailed over Nema Kunku with a 15-2 win.
In the male league games, Konge BI defeated GAF 10-7, Police boys won Saamasang 32-27, Lions’ Heart humiliated Ketel Kunda by 30-11 win and Warriors defeated GAF 13-6.
This weekend fixtures will witness a derby encounter between two of the most established Bakau-based handball teams, Warriors taking on Lions’ Heart in both male and female leagues at the Handball Court on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Police girls will take on Nema Kunku, while the Police boys take on Kogne Bi. Both games will be played at the Gambia College in Brikama.
