The national team is expected to leave for a training camp in Dakar a week prior to the competition to acquaint themselves with the new swimming rules.

The championship will take place at the Piscine Olympique Nationale,  a 2000 seater stadium, with 50-metre Swimming pools of eight  lanes and an automatic officiating equipment with a scoreboard.

The Gambian team to the championship in Dakar will feature  young Gambian swimmer Pap D. Jonga, who will be competing in the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, after his successful participation in the FINA World Swimming Championship held in Doha in 2014 and Kazan, 2015.
