Gambia Captain Omar Colley has been linked with a summer move away from Djurgarden with Spanish La Liga side Espanyol and Germay’s Hertha Berlin rumored to be his next destination.

Djurgarden Sporting Director Bosse Andersson has already admitted that few clubs had made enquires about the availability of the Gambian defender and even though he stop short of disclosing their identities, Colley’s defensive partner for the past one and half year appeared to have confirmed his departure.

Speaking in an interview with Swedish publication FotbollDirekt, Tim Björkström urged club officials to strengthen the defensive third should in case the former Wallidan prodigy departs the Tele2 Arena.

“Maybe we should look for a solution, then, find the right player to replace him so that we can have three good central defenders,” he told FotbollDirekt.se.

Following a strong start to the season, Djurgaden have conceded 17 goals in the last nine games alone but Colley’s position has never been in doubt and, therefore, his departure would be a huge loss to the team.

“It is clear that he is a good player. He is very powerful and has a good attitude. He contributes a lot and it would be sad if he leaves. Meanwhile, Jake (Jacob Une Larsson) would also get the chance to play a little bit and I’m sure he can do it damn good,” Björkström added.
