Trust Bank Limited (TBL) on Monday presented a cheque for D100, 000 to The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) as part of their contribution to the country’s preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil.
The acting Managing Director of Trust Bank, Ebrima Sallah said the Bank was very delighted to support the NOC in their preparation for the Rio Games.
“I must say we [at Trust Bank Limited] have always been immensely proud and encouraged by the efforts and achievements of GNOC in the administration of sports despite the huge challenges,” he said.
Sallah wished the athletes representing the country in Brazil all the best.
The President of the GNOC, Alhaji Momodou Dibba, thanked TBL for the timely intervention, noting that the NOC and the Bank have long term partnership.
The year 2016, according to Dibba, is going to be a special year particularly for The Gambia, as for the first time the country will have more than one qualified athlete to the Games.
Sheikh Trawally of Trust Bank, who also spoke at the presentation ceremony said his Bank was happy to be associated with the GNOC.
