Bakoteh-based Koita Football Academy is one of the teams now ready to compete in this year’s GFF 3rd division qualifying round.

The young academy was established in 2011 with the aim of grooming young Gambian talents.

The Koita Football Academy, according to the officials, is open for all; from the ages of 9 and above.

Speaking in an interview with Observer Sports, Lamin Koita, the founder of the Academy stated that the football academy was established to harness the vibrant talent of the youth of Bakoteh, while giving them a purpose to follow their dreams in becoming professional footballers.

According to Koita, who also doubles as the Academy’s manager, the 3rd division qualifying round is one of their top priorities; that they are fully ready and committed to participate in this year’s 3rd division qualifiers. “Our players have now started an intensive training as part of the preparation for the qualifiers,” he told Observer Sports.

He concluded: “I am happy that most of my footballers in the Academy are playing in different teams in the Nawettans, which means the Academy is reaching its objective.”
