The President of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has expressed his appreciation to tthe European Union (EU) and National Council for Civic Education (NCCE) for using football to promote youth participation in the Access to Justice Project.
Lamin Kabba Bajo was speaking before the commencement of the A2 Justice Football final championship between Fortune FC from Farato and Kwinella FC, held at the Soma Mini-Stadium over the weekend.
The GFF boss thanked Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the support to GFF in its infrastructural development projects throughout the country.
He informed EU and NCCE officials that his institution was proud to be part of the crusade which was to promote means of access to justice and civic rights, adjutant towards legal education and provision of information on available justice mechanism.
“To further strengthen this core values, GFF shall construct state-of-art artificial turf in all the regions under the custody of the Regional Football Associations,” Bajo announced.
The Chairman of NCCE, Sering Faye, on behalf of his institution applauded various stakeholders in LRR for their support to the 4-day tournament in the region.
In attendance at the final were: The Gambia’s Ambassador to Cuba, Masanneh Kinteh; Chief of Kiang Central District, Alhaji Demba Sanyang; EU A2 Justice Project team leader in The Gambia, Shelley Liberto; EU Programme Officer in The Gambia, Alieu Nyang; and Bakary K. Jammeh, member of GFF executive committee and representatives of all RFAs in the country.
