A member of the Daily Observer Sports Committee, Alieu Ceesay, has declared that the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) cannot stop the Daily Observer team ahead of the National Inter-departmental Sports Association (NISA) final slated for 1st October at East mini stadium.

Though the two sides have never met before in a football tournament, Ceesay, who is a senior reporter and an editor, is quite confident of victory looking at the performances of team Observer in this year’s NISA tournament.

He expressed to Observer Sports how delighted he is seeing the Observer team being the first media house to play the NISA competition final, which has brought joy and pride to not only the company, but also to the media fraternity.

“Although the GCAA has a good track record in the NISA tournament, but that has nothing to do with team Observer because we are going to beat the Civil Aviation,” says Alieu Ceesay.

Babucarr Camara, acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief began by thanking the players for their tremendous job for qualifying the team to the final, and thanks the management for their unflinching support to the team.

The performance by the team, he said, has proven skeptics wrong.

The head coach of Observer FC, Senior Reporter Bekai Njie, said even though there is quality in the Observer team, there is still need for them to work harder, noting that the team should not take GCAA for granted.

Mr. Njie assured that there is quality in his team, saying his boys have been very sharp, tricky and deadly in the tournament.
