West Knockout Competition Reaches Climax -Sankum to face Tababi in Final

The 2016 Serrekunda West Nawettan Modou Inna Sey Memorial Knockout Competition has reached its climax with Bijilo-based Sankum FC and Tababi FC confirmed as the teams to play the final on 24th September (next Saturday).

In a highly attended semi-finals, the 2015 league champions Sankum FC eliminated Ruhagi by a narrow 1-0 win on Thursday, as Tababi equally defeated Kanifing United by the same scoreline on Friday to book their place to the final.

In what already promises to be mouth-watering final to watch, hundreds of football enthusiasts and fans are expected to throng the West mini stadium for this all-important clash.

League update

Meanwhile, two days after booking their place to the final of the knockout competition, defending league champions Sankum FC were knocked out of the league competition by Blackpool on Saturday in the 3pm kick-off.

In the 5pm encounter for a place in the quarterfinal stage, Benghazi sent DK United packing after a post-match penalty shoot-out win.

Yesterday (Sunday), Unicorns was to take on Jeshwang City at 3pm, while Kanifing Layout was to take on Ruhagi for a place in the league last 8.
