Yarambamba Football Club booked its place in the finals of the league and knockout competition of Brikama following their 3-1 defeat of Dangam FC of Busumbala in the knockout semis on Wednesday.
The Yundum-based side had already secured a place in the league final prior to this game, and following Wednesday’s success, they have now repeated the same feat of 2014 when they reached the deciding games of both competitions.
It was Dangam FC that first took the lead through Ebrima Jatta after just 12 minutes but the euphoria behind the goal was shot-lived as Alieu Gassama scored to ensure parity when he brilliantly nodded in the equaliser just six minutes after they went behind.
The academy boys then continued to push for a second goal and it arrived just six minutes shy of the break when Lamin Jarju scored. Jarju added a second in the 52nd minute to complete the comfortable win.
Yarambamba will now play either Alfama or Orlando in Sunday’s final. Alfama and Orlando were battling it out for a place in the finals at the Box Bar Mini-Stadium at the time of going to press on Thursday.
After Sunday’s encounter, Yarambamba will return to the Box Bar Mini-Stadium on November 6 for the right to be crowned champions of the Brikama when they entertain Jaliba United in the finals of the league competition.
