Senegalese side Niary Tally on Sunday defeated Sukuta 1-0 to be crowned champions of Real @ 50 international football tournament as part of the celebrations of 50 years since the formation of the club.
Abdoulie Sano’s 32 minute goal was slim but enough for Niary Tally to win the tournament.
Meanwhile in the 3pm kickoff, Guediawaye defeated Serekunda East 3-2 on post-match penalty shoot-out following a 2-2 draw for the 3rd and 4th places
In a post match-match interview with Observer Sports, a proud-looking assistant coach of Niary Tally Landing Jobe commended his team for the victory, noting that they have prepared well ahead of the tournament and was quite confident that his side will make it to the final.
He went on to thank the President of Real De Banjul, Willy Abraham for sending them an invitation to be part of the celebration.
Such tournament, he told Observer Sports, would bring Gambia and Senegal much closer, observing that The Gambia has good talented players.
For his part, the head coach of Sukuta Zonal Team, Modou Cham congratulated his players for making it to the final despite losing to Niary Tally.
Cham is now looking forward to seeing most of his players being scouted for other teams in the soonest possible time.
Coach finally thanked the president of Real de Banjul and all the other teams that come to participate in the celebration of Real @ 50.
