Gambia Sport Foundation in partnership with a Young People without Borders, over the weekend organised a two days fitness tournament in Siffoe village.
The tournament attracted eight Siffoe-based teams and is meant to unearth talents in Siffoe.
The final was staged on Sunday between Jah Kingdom FC and Fula Kunda FC at the Siffoe community football playing ground.
The final ended in 1-1 draw before Jah Kingdom went onto win 5-4 on lost match shootout.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Observer Sports, Yankuba Vermeulen, founder and manager of Gambia Sport Foundation revealed that the foundation was established in 2008 and has since then engaged in so many youth development programs especially in the area of sports.
According to him, him and his wife (Nato Vermeulen) are mostly interested in helping grassroot football and has gone a long way in having up to forty (40) clubs in the country.
He said all the teams were been awarded prizes for participating in the tournament, like jerseys, trophies, training kits and footballs.
According to him, the Netherland-based foundation is a non-profit organization that is interested in helping young people discover their potentials and that is why they are in the process of establishing a nursery school in Kotu.
