The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and the sponsors of 2016 Super Nawettan tournament FIBank will formally present prizes, and other awards to the Super Nawettan champions and others at the Football House today at 11am.
First International Bank (FIB) are the main sponsors of the Super Nawettan tournament for the second consecutive season and will be sponsoring the next tournament after renewing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gambia Football Federation .
Gunjur zonal team won Banjul 2-1 in the just concluding Super Nawettan final played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
It was the City Boys that took the lead after just 17 minutes into the game through Essa Jallow but Salifu Bojang scored to ensure parity some nine minutes before the break. Malang Jassey scored a last gasp penalty to complete the comeback.
Serekunda East won Sukuta 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout in the encounter following a goalless stalemate 3rd place encounter.
The champions Gunjur are expected to receive a cash prize of D75, 000 while the runners up Banjul will receive D50, 000. Serekunda East will also go home with a cash prize of D30, 000 for finishing in the 3rd place.
Other awards will given to Mbemba Fatty of Gunjur as the best player, Manjai as the most discipline team and the best goalkeeper among others.
