“This Defeat is a Wakeup Call for Tallinding United” Says coach Sana Darboe

Marimoo and Tallinding United were the first to race each other in the recently started GFF division one league tournament. The game played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda, on Saturday.

Saikou Touray’s 65th minute goal was enough for Marimoo to collect the maximum point needed in their opening game of the GFF National league season.

The assistant coach of Tallinding United, Sanna Darboe stated that their opening defeat against the Marimoo FC is a wakeup call for them ahead of the new GFF division league season, adding that this is their first match and luck was not on their side.

“We could have capitalized on the three chances that we created but we were just unfortunate and the only chance our opponent got they use that to punished us”, adding that they will take this defeat in good faith as they will go back and work on their mistakes

Speaking in an interview with reporters shortly after the game, the head coach of Marimoo FC, Momodou Jallow expressed happiness for their victory in their opening match again their fellow newly promoted side Tallinding United.

“It was not an easy task for us but we were prepared very well so we managed to won them”, noting that they still need to work harder in order for them to stay in the first division league.

According to him, in any game winning the first match is always crucial because it boost the morale of the particular team.
