The head coach of Serekunda United has expressed his delight following his side’s draw with Gamtel in the opening day of the first division league. The game played at the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

Baboucarr Jallow gave Gamtel an 18th minute lead bute Malick Kujabi scored to ensure a share of the spoils with 16 minutes remaining.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the coach said both teams played very well both in terms of technically and tactically. He added that after conceding a goal in the 18th minute, he told his players how important the game is to them for the new season which he noted led to their equaliser.

After struggling to maintain their position in the competition last season, he said they are much prepared this term.

“Each year we use to struggle in the tournament but this season people will see a different Serekunda United. We are coming this season to win either the FA cup or the league,” he added.

The assistant coach of Gamtel FC, Momodou Jim Kebbeh expressed disappointment in conceding a late goal to Serekunda East.

According to him, one of the reasons for sharing the points with Serekunda United  is because they don’t give them the respect they deserved, adding that with this draw they now know what their problems are and will hope to work it out for their next games.
