The Second Division look set to be interesting in the 2016/17 season as new comers from Banjul and regular participants Brufut United and Blue Star eyeing for each other’s blood on the battle for promotion.
Fused in between is of course old Wallidan who have spent the last few years climbing and crashing down. In the second week of the new season, Brufut United registered its first win, beating Wallidan by a lone goal. It was from the feet of Almameh Ceesay alias Menteng in the first half that told the story and pushed the Sanementereng Boys to 4 points from two matches.
Also, Young Africans showed a strong signal of a formidable change beating last year’s warriors Blue Stars while Interior too got to a flying start. In the other games and results from the Week One fixtures full results from Week One is as follows.
